KOZHIKODE: The first phase of the networking of ambulance services, named the Active Network Group of Emergency Life Savers (Angels), was inaugurated by Kerala Medical University Chancellor Dr K Mohandas at a function held here at the Beach Hospital on Saturday. In the inaugural speech, Dr K Mohandas said that all support must be given to educate people about emergency care and pre-hospital care. For this, the Medical University will help the hospitals and other medical institutions, which are looking forward to start emergency medicine and pre-hospital care courses.
An awareness must be brought among the people about the techniques in emergency medicine and pre-hospital care, as it could save the life of a person who is injured or under any emergency medical situation, he said. The ignorance or lack of proper knowledge in these subjects will often lead to fatalities, he pointed out.
