THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The lifetime achievement award instituted by Symphony TV will be presented to K J Yesudas for his valuable contribution to music, Symphony TV managing director V Krishnakumar told a news conference here on Thursday.
Poet O N V Kurup will present the award to Yesudas on Saturday at Hotel Taj Residency, Thiruvananthapuram.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, a memento and a citation.
The Young Achievers Award carrying a cash prize of Rs 20,000, memento and citation will be presented to singers Vidhu Prathap, Kalyani and Aparna Rajeev on the occasion.
Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, T K A Nair, will be the chief guest at the award ceremony.
Additional Chief Secretary (Industries and Commerce) T Balakrishnan and Symphony TV director C K Menon will attend the function. Young singers will perform 25 songs by 17 renowned music directors to honour Yesudas.
Actor Venu Nagavalli and music director M G Radhakrishnan, who passed away recently, will be remembered on the occasion.
