THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Government has decided to examine all the land documents, including the controversial 'Ravindran pattayams', issued in the Kannan Devan Hills (KDH) village in Idukki district.
According to sources in the government, the highlevel meeting of the revenue officials held here on Tuesday, chaired by Revenue Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, decided to collect land tax from the KDH village.
The government had stopped collecting land tax from KDH village since the LDF Government had sent its first special team for Munnar Mission. Now, ahead of collecting taxes, all the land documents, including Ravindran pattayams will be examined. A special team will be constituted in this regard. The team will examine the documents in 90 days. It has also been decided to continue with the eviction process initiated by the UDF Government.
An action plan will be prepared for the secondphase of eviction. Instead of demolishing the buildings on the encroached land, it will be taken over by the Government. The resurvey of the entire land stretch of Marayoor, Kanthalloor and Vattavada panchayats will be held and if any government land is found encroached, it will be evicted.
Revenue Secretary Niveditha P Haran, Land Revenue Commissioner T K Manoj Kumar, Survey and Land Records director K B Valsala Kumari, Idukki Collector E Devadasan, SubCollector T K Rajamanikkam and other revenue officials attended the meeting.
The minister's office told Express that the Minister would announce the course of action on Wednesday after the cabinet meeting.
