KOTTAYAM: Former Bishop of Vijayapuram Diocese Mar Peter Thuruthikonam was laid to rest at the Vimalagiri Cathedral at 3 pm on Tuesday. Varapuzha Archbishop Francis Kallarackal led the Concelebrated Mass.

Syro-Malabar Major Archbishop Mar George Alencherry conducted the ‘Opees’ as part of offering prayers on behalf of the archdiocese.
Twenty bishops and 150 priests took part in the prayers. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Finance Minister K M Mani and Revenue Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan were among those who paid their last respects to Mar Thuruthikonam.
