Air India will organise a one-hour-long ‘special flight for special children’ on Thursday from here to Kanyakumari.

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme has been named ‘AI 2012 Wings of Love’. The Air India 747 jumbo jet will carry 330 differently abled children, from ages 9-15 years, back and forth. Mike Joseph, station manager of Air India, Kochi Airport, said that though the airline is conducting this trip as part of its CSR, it is co-sponsored by the Rotary Club of Cochin West and Cochin Airport.

Besides disabled children, there will be a select few from blind schools, orphanages and old age homes, making a total of 423 passengers. Special gifts will be offered by Federal Bank and the Lulu Group.
