KOZHIKODE: Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) state general secretary K P A Majeed has alleged that the CPM had been trying to destroy the party by misleading the public. He was inaugurating a meeting of the trade union leaders of public sector undertakings convened by the Swathanthra Thozhilali Union (STU) state committee, here, on Sunday.

“It is a wrong notion that the CPM can gain if Muslim League suffers a set back. In fact, extremist organisations would strengthen with the collapse of the Muslim League. CPI leadership now very well knows this fact but the CPM leaders are still feigning ignorance of this fact,” he said. Majeed said that the state government was mooting an action plan incorporating the participation of labourers to support the public sector undertakings of the state. “Active participation of labourers is a must for uplift of PSUs which are incurring losses. The party does not support the privatisation of organisations and is against development which affects the environment,” he added.  TheMuslim League leader has asked the STU leaders to be in the front to earn deserving benefits for the labourers.

MP and IUML general

secretary E T Mohammed Basheer has called for a collective effort by the labourers to save the ailing PSUs in the state. “It is a fact that the PSUs could not be saved using government fund alone. However, the UDF Government is not ready to show that PSUs are reaping profits by doing some mathematical tricks,” he added. STU state president Ahammedkutty Unnikulam, general secretary U Poker, IUML Kozhikode district general secretary M A Razakh Master, Hanveev chairman U C Raman, M A Karim Haji, P M Haneefa and several other leaders attended.
