CH Ashokan released on bail

 CPM Onchiyam Area Committee Secretary C H Ashokan, who was arrested in the murder case of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan was released from jail on bail on Monday. Though the Kerala High Court had granted conditional bail to Ashokan in connection with a case for hatching a conspiracy in 2009 on Friday, procedures got delayed because Saturday and Sunday were holidays.

Ashokan has been granted bail with strict conditions including that he should not enter the limits of Kozhikode and Kannur districts except for compliance with the condition of appearing before the investigation officer. Besides, he should not directly or indirectly contact any of the other accused or witnesses in the case. He should also not leave the State without the permission of the court. Earlier, the court had granted bail to Ashokan in the Chandrasekharan murder case also.

CPM activists accorded a reception to Ashokan at the Kozhikode District Jail.
