Educational excellence award for Amrita e-learning research lab

Amrita E-Learning Research Lab, a division of Amrita University, has won the award for educational excellence in the field of educational technology at the Indo-Global Educational Summit and Expo-2012 held in  Hyderabad the other day.

Andhra Pradesh High Court Judge Justice Narasimha Reddy presented the award to E-learning Research Lab marketing manager Krishnakumar at the valedictory function. Ramakrishna Ramaswamy, Vice-Chancellor of the Hyderabad University was the guest of honour at the function.

The summit was organised by The Indus Foundation Inc, USA and was supported by Union Ministry of HRD and Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The summit had representatives of educational institutes from over 40 countries. The award was given in recognition to Amrita’s effort in developing  A-VIEW, an e-learning platform aimed at addressing the challenge of shortage of experienced teachers in the higher education sector in India. A-VIEW is deployed in more than 350 universities and 600 colleges across India. It has been planned to deploy A-VIEW in all universities and colleges by the end of next year.
