In a major jolt to the prime investigating agency, the CBI special court here ordered a re-probe into the sensational Kaviyoor sex scandal case, including the role of politicians and others in it.

Delivering the judgment, CBI Special Judge T S P Moosath also dismissed the further investigation report of the CBI, which stated that Anagha, the 15-year-old girl, had been sexually abused by her father Narayanan Namboothiri.

Moosath gave the new directive while hearing the petitions of Unnikrishnan Namboothiri, brother of the late Narayanan Namboothiri, and Crime Magazine editor T P Nandakumar, who sought to dismiss the further probe report of the CBI, which they alleged was intended to save some persons.

“The CBI report had stated that Anagha was subjected to sexual harassment for 15 to 20 days before her death,” the court said and added that the CBI should find out the persons behind the crime.  The court said that there was no scientific and circumstantial evidence to prove that Anagha’s father had sexually harassed her.
