Saritha S Nair has given a statement to the police that Biju Radhakrishnan had been maintaining a strong relationship with starlet Shalu Menon. Saritha added that she was afraid that her fate would have been similar to that of Biju Radhakrishnan’s wife Reshmi.
In a statement given to personnel investigating the energy equipment scam in Ernakulam, she said that Biju often showered Menon with gifts and she had been keeping a distance from Biju, ever since he had started getting closer to Menon.
Saritha said that Biju was planning to marry Menon and he had offered Rs 1 crore for the construction of her house.
The money for this was taken from the company’s account. Saritha, however, added that she was not sure whether Menon knew about Biju’s plan. Biju was planning to draw Menon closer to his solar business for widening its reach to the NRIs and lure them into investing in their windmill project. He had drawn a plan for this purpose, the statement claimed.
Saritha disclosed that it was as per the direction of Biju that she had decided to deliver her second child in Thiruvananthapuram jail and did not file a bail petition before the delivery period. Saritha was arrested by the Thiruvananthapuram police a few years back during which she had delivered her second child in the jail.
When ‘Express’ contacted several top level police officials in this regard, they were not forthcoming, as any revelation was deemed to negatively affect investigation procedures.
Shalu Menon had earlier denied the allegations raised against her and had claimed that she was cheated by Biju.
