Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that Navajyothi Sree Karunakara Guru was a person who won the heart of the society with his love. He was inaugurating the proclamation meet of the Nava Oli Jyotirdinam celebrations at Santhigiri Ashram here on Friday.
Nava Oli Jyotirdinam is celebrated as the anniversary of Navajyothi Sree Karunakara Guru’s physical departure fourteen years ago on 6 May 1999. Speaking about Karunakara Guru the founder of the Santhigiri Ashram, Chandy said that he was the epitome of love and his messages were relevant even in today’s world.
“Today there is conflict in every sector in the country. Whether it is an individual or communities, there is a wide drift. This conflict exists because of lack of love and understanding. During such testing times teachings and messages of Karunakara Guru is very much relevant. With his life Guru had passed the message of love to us,” he said. CPI state president Pannian Raveendran presided over the function. He said that through Santhigiri Ashram Karunakara Guru had spread the message of human love and humanity. Cardinal Mar Baselios Cleemis said that Karunakara Guru through the message of love taught to find unity in diversity. Mar Baselios Cleemis was felicitated at the function. The CM presented a memento. George Onakkoor delivered the keynote address. Pothencode Block Panchayat member M Muneer, Pothencode Grama Panchayat standing committee chairman M Balamurali, Santhigiri Ashram Human Resource general manager KRS Nair were among those who participated.
The Nava Oli Jyotirdinam celebrations, which will take place on Sunday at Santhigiri Ashram will be inaugurated by Governor Nikhil Kumar at 5 p.m.
