B Mohanan assumed office as the 41st District Collector of Kollam, replacing P G Thomas, on Monday. Mohanan, a 1990-batch Deputy Collector, was conferred IAS this February.
He hails from Ayanivelikulangara, near Karunagappally. He was formerly the director of Cooperation Department.
