Chief Judicial Magistrate M B Snehalatha on Friday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against former police surgeon and principal of Kottayam Medical College Dr C Radhakrishnan as he repeatedly failed to appear before the court for the witness examination proceedings in a case related to Sister Abhaya’s murder.
Radhakrishnan was a witness in the case of alleged tampering of the work register at the State Forensic Science Laboratory.
The case pertains to the allegation that the results of the tests conducted on the internal organs of Sister Abhaya were tampered.
Radhakrishnan had failed to appear before the court after appearing for the first two sessions of witness examination by the counsels of the accused. Radhakrishnan, who also conducted the post-mortem of Sister Abhaya, had earlier deposed that the nun died by drowning and also there was no evidence of sexual harassment on her body. The case has been posted to November 18.
