Vice Admiral Pradeep Chauhan, Commandant, Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, arrived at the Southern Naval Command on a farewell visit. He is retiring from the Indian Navy on November 30 after 38 years of service.
The Vice Admiral was accorded a guard of honour, after which he called on Vice Admiral Satish Soni, Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command. Commissioned into the Indian Navy in July 1975, Vice Admiral Chauhan is a navigation and direction specialist and a compelling orator on maritime matters. He was a member of the fourth Indian expedition to Antarctica and the first Commandant of Mauritian Coast Guard. His sea tenures include commands of INS Khanjar, INS Brahmaputra and INS Viraat. Vice-Admiral Chauhan assumed office as the Commandant of Indian Naval Academy in February 2012. He has been decorated with Ati Vishisht Seva Medal twice as well as the Vishisht Seva Medal.
