Fortune had blessed him with the chance to become a millionaire, but fate turned out to be a villain. Unni, 25, son of Samban of Chempilavu near Pala, who had won Rs 1 crore, after winning the state government’s Karunya Lottery was found dead on Monday.
According to police, Unni, a painter, who went for a bath in the morning, was found dead in the water hole near his residence around 11 am.
He was suffering from epilepsy and it is suspected that he might have had an attack during the bath.
Unni had won the lottery prize on March 2 and the ticket was presented to the Kidangoor Service Cooperative Bank. He was awaiting for the clearance of money.
According to relatives, Unni had a quarrel with a youth over investing the money received from the lottery. The police have registered a case in connection with the death. His cremation will be held at 10.30 am on Tuesday.
