Kapico Kerala Resorts on Thursday approached the Kerala High Court seeking to review the court’s judgment directing the Central Government to demolish the illegal resorts at Nediathuruthu Island in Alappuzha district.

Kapico Kerala Resorts on Thursday approached the Kerala High Court seeking to review the court’s judgment directing the Central Government to demolish the illegal resorts at Nediathuruthu Island in Alappuzha district.

A Division Bench comprising Justice K M Joseph and Justice A Harilal had passed the order and observed that the resorts were constructed violating the coastal regulations zone notification of 1991 and directed the Central Government to demolish the structure worth `320 crore. The petition was filed by resorts chairman Roy M Mathew. The Bench had held that the resort encroached “puramboke land” and “kayal”.
