GURUVAYUR: Three Class V students were admitted to Chavakkad Taluk Hospital on Saturday after they reportedly sniffed an adhesive which is used by some drug addicts for stimulation.

The parents of the students, who sought medical assistance after their children complained of uneasiness, alleged that three Class IX students of the same school had forced their children to sniff the adhesive made of harmful chemicals.

Acting on the complaint of the parents, the Guruvayur police on Sunday filed cases against the three Class IX students.

When the police questioned the three students, they denied the allegations raised against them.

No arrests have been made as the accused are minors who are protected under the Juvenile Justice Act.

The case will be taken up by the Juvenile Justice Board or Child Welfare Committee meant for the district, the Guruvayur police said.
