THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Southern Railway has revised the railway time tables with four trains running in the state having a change in their running schedule from Tuesday. The current time table which came into effect on July 1 last year will remain valid up to August 31 while the new time table will be published on September 1 after the Railway Budget, the Southern Railway said.
In the changes to take effect on July 1, the Chennai Mail (Train no 12623/12624) running between Thiruvananthapuram and Chennai Central will be diverted via Coimbatore with stoppage at Coimbatore. The train will also have an early start from Thiruvananthapuram at 2.05 p.m. and arrive at Chennai on 7.30 a.m. the next day. Express train (Train no 16527/16528) between Kannur and Yesvantpur will also be diverted via Coimbatore.
Train towards Kannur will leave at usual timing of 8 p.m. from Yesvantpur to reach Coimbatore at 3.20 a.m. and Kannur at 9.20 a.m. Meanwhile, the Thiruvananthapuram-Nagercoil Passenger (56315) will leave Thiruvananthapuram 15 minutes early at 5 pm and the Kannur-Kozhikode passenger (56652) will leave Kannur at 5.20 p.m. and will reach Kozhikode at 8.05 pm. From July 5, the Gorakhpur-Thiruvananthapuram Raptisagar Express (12511) of Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday will reach Thiruvananthapuram at 5.15 p.m., 15 minutes early. And from July 19, Mangalore-Sandragachi Express (22852) leaving Mangalore Central at 10.45 pm on Saturdays will now have a delayed start at 11 p.m.
Meanwhile, Chennai Central-Mangalore-Chennai Central West Coast Express (formerly 16627/16628), Chennai Central-Alappuzha-Chennai Central Express (formerly 16041/16042), Thiruvananthapuram Central- Shalimar-Thiruvananthapuram Central Bi-weekly Express (formerly 16323/16324), Ernakulam Junction-Patna-Ernakulam Bi-weekly Express (formerly 16309/16310), Indore- Thiruvananthapuram-Indore Ahalyanagari Express Korba-Thiruvanathapuram Central-Korba Express and Dibrugarh- Kanyakumari Express have been renumbered and will now operate as superfast trains.
