The CPM will face setback in the Lok Sabha election for its pursuing fascist methods, said K K Rema, leader of Revolutionary Marxist Party and widow of T P Chandrasekharan.
“The election will prove to be catastrophic for the CPM for keeping away from the issues faced by the common man,’’ Rema said.
She was inaugurating the election convention of the Left United Front, a coalition formed by the RMP, Socialist Unity Centre Of India and Marxist Communist Party of India (United) here on Sunday.
Alleging that the CPM had deviated from communist ideology, she said that the party leaders had no compunctions in fielding candidates who either do not have any political background or those who were having opposite ideologies.
“Chandrasekharan came out of the CPM when his fight within the party as a corrective force did not yield result. RMP put forward an alternative politics at Onchiyam similar to what the Aam Aadmi Party did.
“Chandrasekharan was leading a fight in the party similar to V S Achuthanandan.
“What is the justification of killing a person with a different opinion instead of facing him in a democratic way. Is the job of CPM leaders to give quotation to kill people?,’’ she asked.
Pinarayi Vijayan did not have any problem even when the RSP quit the coalition and the party did not try to convince the ally.
“The arrogance of the leaders are evident from their speech and body language. There was an expectation that the CPI had certain stands. But by fielding Bennet Abraham as candidate it has been proven that the CPI also did not have any stand,’’ she added.
Comments Flayed
CPM leaders who said lack of police protection led to the murder of Chandrasekharan are making a mockery of themselves, Rema said.
“CPM leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan claimed lack of police protection led to the murder.
“But, in fact, Kodiyeri had covered up an Intelligence report on a murder threat to Chandrasekharan,” she said.
SUCI leader M Shajarkhan, who is the candidate of the LUF in Thiruvananthapuram, RMP candidate at Attingal Suseelan, among others, spoke.
