'Withdraw Controversial Book on Mata Amritanandamayi'

Champat Rai, international general secretary of Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP), has appealed all to withdraw the controversial book written by a former disciple of Mata Amrithanandamayi, denigrating the Amma and the activities of the Math. 

“The book, which is unpublished here, should be withdrawn from all electronic media. We are living in a civilised society. Nobody should try to provoke the Hindu society,” he told reporters here on Monday, while terming it as an attempt to malign the Hindu society.

“In India the word ‘Maa’ is held in high regard. All allegations raised against the Amritanandamayi Math are done with ulterior motives. It is a kind of vote bank politics propagated by a few politicians with the intention to polarize the voters on the basis of religion. It is surprising to note that none of them has voiced against many other organisations known to practice unscientific, illegal and illogical activities,” he said.

He asked all Hindus to exercise their voting rights in the upcoming elections. “Everybody should cast their vote. Vote for the nation and not for any community or religion,” he said.

The Viswa Hindu Parishad will organise dharnas at all district headquarters in the country against the illegal migration of Bangladeshis. As part of this a march will be organised at Ernakulam Boat Jetty junction, said VHP office-bearers.
