THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan on Tuesday asked Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala to respond to UDF convener P P Thankachan’s statement that coalition party leaders were under surveillance. He said the practice of keeping the coalition leaders under surveillance is a dangerous situation.

Achuthanandan pointed out that when former Chief Whip P C George  complained that his phone was being tapped, the Home Minister had denied it in the Assembly. But the UDF convener had ratified thisclaim. Achuthanandan asked the RSP and the Janata Dal (United) to clarify their stand on the issue and to review their decision to continue with the UDF Government.
