KOZHIKODE: Actor Nilambur Ayisha has been chosen for the award instituted by the Prem Nazir Cultural Forum, Kozhikode, for the year 2015.
The award, which carries a purse of `10,000 and a citation, will be given away at a function to be held at the Sports Council Hall on January 16. The day marks the death anniversary of actor Prem Nazir. Prominent personalities from the socio-cultural fields will attend the function.
The forum has also planned to observe the death anniversary with a slew of programmes from January 6 to 16.
A photo exhibition, film festival, award presentation, commemoration, and musical events will be conducted as part of the death anniversary observance.
Personalities from the film, politics and socio-cultural fields will attend the various events.
As part of the observance, a painting exhibition will be held at the Lalithakala Akademi Art Gallery from January 5 to 10. Many portraits based on Nazir’s film life will be displayed at the exhibition, to be inaugurated by director R Thangaraj on Monday evening.
Featuring as may as 13 films of Prem Nazir, a five-day film festival will also be conducted at the Sports Council Hall from January 12 to 16.
The movies namely ‘Iruttinte Athmavu’, ‘Nadi’, ‘Neelaponman’, ‘Kudumbini’, ‘Karuthakai’, ‘Lankadahanam’, ‘Rakthapushpam’, ‘Irumbazhikal’, ‘Laila Majnu’, ‘Kuppivala’, ‘Pravaham’, ‘Themmadivelappan’ and ‘Pushpanjali’ will be screened during the five-day festival.
A musical concert is also being planned at 7 pm on January 16.
