THRISSUR: As a part of the nationwide Pulse Polio Immunisation programme, camps were held at as many as 1,853 booths in the district on Sunday.
The programme was officially inaugurated by District Panchayat president C C Sreekumar at Vadakkancherry District Hospital on Sunday morning. As many as 31,666 kids below five years of age were administered polio drops on Sunday, Health Department officials claimed.
They also said that volunteers would be visiting each and every household in the district in the coming days to administer polio drops to those children below five who were not brought to the camps on Sunday.
