THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:The Kerala Olympic Association (KAO) has backtracked from organising the National Games torch relay, citing practical difficulties. One of the three principal organisers of the Games, the KOA informed the National Games Secretariat that the association was unable to facilitate the 700-km state-wide rally, due to lack of resources. As a result, the task has been handed over to the Kerala State Sports Council. “The sports council has a centre in each of the 14 districts and therefore it is in a better position to facilitate the rally than the KOA,” said state Olympic Association president Abdul Rahman.
