

KANNUR: It was an emotional moment for the Keltron employees and those who knew the stalwart and ‘electronic man’ of Kerala, K P P Nambiar, who was cremated with full guard of honour at the Keltron complex at Mangad in Kannur on Thursday.
Nambiar’s body was brought to his ancestral house in Ramapuram at 10.30 am on Thursday. He died at a private hospital in Bengaluru. People paid homage to Nambiar at his ancestral house. As a tribute to the man, all shops remained closed in Kalliyasseri, Mangad and Dharmasala.CPM leaders Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, E P Jayarajan, K K Shailaja, P Jayarajan, M V Jayarajan, MLA T V Rajesh, Congress leaders K Sudhakaran and K C Kadamburan among others paid their last respects. His son Kiran performed the last rites at the funeral.
Nambiar was born on April, 15, 1929, in Kalliasseri. He was the architect of India’s first state-run electronics enterprise, Keltron, which blazed a trail in electronics revolution in state.
