THRISSUR:Cultural Affairs Minister K C Joseph gave away the K V Daniel Memorial Award to senior journalist Jose Thomas at a function held here on Sunday.
Speaking at the award distribution function,the Minister said no one could come in the way of independent journalism and visual media has been effective to bring changes in the society.
But the visual media should ensure no lines are crossed.
“It is true that with the coming of visual media it has become impossible for the politicians to lie before mediapersons. But, there need to be some level of scrutiny for the visual media before a news is aired,” he said.
Minister also said that no one could deny the bedlam happened in the Assembly during the budget presentation by finance Minister K M Mani.
