THRISSUR: The Viyyur Central Jail authorities on Monday lodged a complaint that the three inmates, convicted for the murder of RMP supremo T P Chandrasekharan, assaulted a fellow prisoner and inflicted injuries on his face.

The complaint has been filed on Kodi Suni, Anoop and Mohammed Shafi at the Viyyur police station, the reports said.

“Sadique, who has been attacked, is serving his term here for peddling ganja. He is a native of Mattanchery. Sadique had, on an earlier occasion, entered into a verbal combat with Kodi Suni. The accused three including Kodi Suni, Anoop and Mohammed Shafi, were looking out for a chance to avenge back,” said superintendent Baburaj.

Sadique was admitted to the Medical College hospital, but discharged after it was found the injuries were not of serious nature, said Baburaj.

The accused three were, however, transferred from some other prison to Viyyur Central Jail in February 2014.

“Except this particular incident, there had been no complaints regarding their behaviour so far,” said jail superintendent Baburaj.

According to the prison officials, the delay in getting statement from the victim had interrupted the procedures of registering the complaint.

They said, Sadique had not been admitted to the hospital when they went there to take stock of the injury.

It will be determined which section of the law to be implemented when we see him personally and assess the depth of the injury. It is also to be ascertained if there had been any other violations in the jail, said the officials on Monday.
