KOCHI: Similar to the logo for London Underground, which turned into a globally recognised commercial transport logo and a cultural icon, Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) on Thursday unveiled its new logo.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy unveiled the interior and exterior design of the Kochi Metro trains while Power Minister Aryadan Mohammed released the new logos here at a function held at CIAL on Thursday. “The first set of coaches for Kochi Metro will reach the city within 100 days. Today (Thursday), we have assessed the progress of the work (carried out) so far and are fully satisfied with it. We hope that the project can be commissioned within the stipulated June 2016 deadline,” said Chandy.

The main logo of KMRL will be in Turquoise Blue. Under the main logo, there will be five other logos where the second letter will have different colour adaptations which will be used for the various modes of transport to be managed by KMRL. The first letter of all the sub logos will have Turquoise Blue colour. The second letter of the logos will be in light green for Metro Rail, dark blue for water bus, lilac for buses, purple for cycle and dark pink for Taxis.
