KOZHIKODE: After hacking the websites associated with two airports in the State, Cyber crooks hacked the website of renowned writer and Jnanpith awardee M T Vasudevan Nair who recently faced BJP’s ire over criticising the demonetisation move at a book release function.

The website with domain name "www.mtvasudevannair.com" was hacked by the group ‘Pak Cyber Attackers’ and main page has been loaded with a poster saying "website stamped by Kashmiri Cheetah".

Kalamandalam Saraswathi, wife of M T Vasudevan Nair told Express that it was the writer’s website, but added that they were not aware about the hacking.

Hackers under the banner 'PaK Cyber Attackers’, have been targeting various government websites for some time. However, it is for the first time that the website of a renowned writer has come under attack.

Police suspect that the hackers had targeted the writer's website to get maximum publicity and make use of the controversy over MT’s demonetisation remarks. A detailed cyber forensic probe has been initiated by the cyber wing of the State police to track the IP address of the hackers and their location.
