MGU syndicate disbanded, replaced with new members

KOTTAYAM: The LDF government on Thursday, disbanded the syndicate of the Mahatma Gandhi University and reconstituted it with new members. The decision was taken invoking sub-section (3) of Section 22 of Mahatma Gandhi University Act 1985.

Govt nominated 14 new members out of total 15 nominated members in the syndicate. Interestingly, the only member retained from the existing syndicate is Dr. S Sujatha, daughter of G Sukumaran Nair, the general secretary of Nair Service Society (NSS). She is the head of the department of English at NSS Hindu College, Changanassery. Ranni MLA, Raju Abraham is the nominated member under the Section 21 (f) [other member] category.

The members in the new syndicate are P K Harikumar, Tomichan Joseph, Dr. S Sujatha, V S Praveen Kumar, Sherafudeen K, Dr. Aji C Panicker, Dr. M S Murali, Dr. A Jose, Dr. B Padmanabha Pillai, Dr. K Alexander, D R P K Padmakumar, Dr. Krishnadas K, Dr. Pragash R, Raju Abraham MLA and Arya Rajan.
