KOCHI: Solar scam accused Saritha S Nair narrowly escaped from a non bailable arrest warrant by Justice G Sivarajan Judicial Commission probing solar scam after she did not appear before the commission in spite being summoned for it on Monday.
Even though commission decided to issue an non bailable arrest warrant, Saritha's counsel advocate C D Johny pleaded for a last chance.
Considering the request, commission decided to give one more chance to Saritha for appearing before it on June 6 for proving the authenticity of the document and sex tapes she submitted prior to assembly election.
Agitated over frequently not turning up after receiving the notice, the commission orally observed that she has dumped all the evidences before it and taking no responsibility to prove its authenticity.
In the morning when commission came to know that Saritha has not appeared, it asked her counsel whether she can appear again in the next sitting that to be held on June first week. After speaking to Saritha, the counsel submitted that she is engaged with film shooting and require more time.
On this Justice G Sivarajan observed that commission is going to initiate action which ensure Saritha's appearance by issuing a non bailable arrest warrant against her.
On this her counsel advocate C D Johny requested a last chance and spoke to Saritha over phone once again. After speaking to Saritha over the phone, C D Johny submitted before the commission that she would appear on June 6.
The commission observed that if she again keep away from appearing, the legal action would be taken. The commission also stated Saitha has raised serious allegation against public persons and it is her responsibility to prove the authenticity.
The commission will also consider the petition of K C Venugopal MP to hand over the evidences regarding allegation raised by Saritha against him.
