Former Government pleader cries foul

KOCHI: Former Government Pleader Susheela Bhatt has come down heavily on the State Government for removing her from the post of Special Government Pleader (Revenue), and termed the move unfair considering the fact that various cases of encroachment by plantation companies  were at crucial stage.

“In more than 200 cases, I could convince the court to a great extent that the encroached land belonged to government. I was also able to get orders in favour of the State Government in cases against major plantation firms. I was removed from the post at a time when cases against two big players in the sector - civil, criminal, and writ - have been posted for hearing in the coming days,” Susheela told ‘Express.’
