THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A day before swearing in as Kerala’s 12th Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan revealed a big secret that he had kept under wraps even from his close confidantes - his real birthday. On Tuesday, Pinarayi Vijayan let the world know that he turned 71 on May 24. As per official records, his birthday is recorded as March 21, 1944. But, the leader, in a dramatic manner, revealed that he’s one year younger than what the official records say. Before starting his first press conference after being chosen as the Chief minister designate, sweets were distributed. “Can anyone say on account of what the sweets were distributed? Today is my birthday. Many people had asked me when’s my birthday. It was kept as a secret till now. As per official records, it’s March 21, 1944. But in reality, it’s 1120 Idavam 10 (as per Malayalam calendar) - that is May 24, 1945. You couldn’t find out this till now,” Pinarayi Vijayan said in a lighter vein. The CM-in-waiting was, however, quick to add that he’s not going to correct his official birthday. And that it will remain as March 21, 1944.
