Jishnu Prannoy death accused P Krishnadas released after interrogation

THRISSUR: The Special Investigation Team which is probing the death of Pampady Nehru College student, Jishnu Prannoy, has granted bail to P Krishnadas, chairman of Nehru Group of Institutions on Tuesday after they arrested him.

Krishnadas presented himself at the office of the Irinjalakuda DySP for interrogation, and was later released.

According to rural SP Vijaya Kumar, Krishnadas was given notice to appear before the team for interrogation as part of the investigation.

“Police has released him after interrogation as he is on interim bail. We will give notice to Sanjith Viswanathan, PRO of Pampady Nehru College, to present himself for questioning,” said Vijaya Kumar.

Sanjith is also out on bail.

Earlier, Jishnu Prannoy’s parents had announced an indefinite strike at the police headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram from Wednesday, accusing the police for not arresting Krishnadas.

The family alleged that the arrest on Tuesday was sheer drama and said they will not retract from their protest.
