THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP National Executive member V Muralidharan, who began a 48-hour fast on Wednesday to pressurise the government into taking action against the management of Kerala Law Academy (KLA), would continue the fast indefinitely.
Announcing this on Friday, BJP State President Kummanam Rajasekharan told media persons that Muralidharan had taken the decision in view of the public rage against the KLA management. He also attacked the government for trying to trivialise the students’ strike.
“Their stir is evolving into a public agitation. The KLA is functioning in violation of all the rules. BJP will not allow the government to stifle justice and will lead the agitation,” said Kummanam, who also visited the fasting students.
Several leaders and party workers visited Muralidharan during his fast. These included Kerala Pulayar Maha Sabha President N K Neelakandan, KLA Trust office-bearer Ayyappan Pillai, ABVP National Secretary O Nidheesh, BJP state Secretary C Sivankutty and others.
The other day, police attempted to arrest Muralidharan and take him to the Medical College Hospital.
