THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A report on the budget leak controversy by Kerala chief secretary S M Vijayanand has ruled out that the state budget for 2017-18 was leaked. No documents related to the budget were leaked, according to the report submitted to the government.
Meanwhile, the Assembly witnessed an uproar with the Opposition disrupting the day's sitting. Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, defending Finance Minister T M Thomas Isaac, said the chief secretary's report on the issue has ruled out that a leak. The report, he said, has also ruled out any lapses. The Opposition, meanwhile, demanded that the entire incident should be investigated by an Assembly panel.
Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan temporarily stopped proceedings on account of the Opposition protests. The Kerala Congress (M) and the BJP, represented by its lone MLA O Rajagopal, staged a walkout protesting the 'leak'.
