Once bitten, twice why? Dog killed after four bitten in separate incidents in Kerala 

The state had come into criticism from Animal Welfare organisations and activists across the country after it took to mass culling stray dogs in 2015.

PATHANAMTHITTA: Four persons were injured after being bitten by the same stray dog in different incidents at Vallikode near here on Wednesday. The injured people were admitted to the general hospital.

Haridas, 55, an autorickshaw driver at Vallikode Junction was the first victim, after he was bitten on his leg while waiting for passengers at the autorickshaw stand.

Shaima, 49, fell victim to the dog when she was standing outside the backyard of her house, while Meenakshi (73) and Raghavan (76) were attacked while they were walking on the road.

The dog was later killed by the locals after a chase that lasted for half an hour.

Kerala had come into criticism from Animal Welfare organisations and activists across the country after it took to mass culling stray dogs starting in 2015, across the State after many people suffered casualties after being bitten or chased by packs of stray dogs.
