KOZHIKODE: After a week-long search, the police team probing the alleged morphing of photographs of women by a studio staff at Vadakara nabbed the prime suspect on Wednesday.A Special Investigation Team led by Vadakara DySP T P Premraj took Bibeesh into custody from his hideout at Rajamala in Idukki district.  Premraj said Bibeesh was hiding at his relative’s house in Idukki for the past couple of days.

“The police team took him into custody acting on a tip-off. The accused was later brought to Vadakara for detailed questioning. More details will emerge after the interrogation,” said the police officer.Though two studio owners were arrested the other day, the police have not received any vital information about the crime such as the motive behind the morphing activity and how many photographs were misused.  As local protests mounted against the delay in arresting the prime suspect, the rural police on Tuesday issued a lookout notice at all transit points, including airports, for the accused.

The investigation team also intensified the search for the culprit. Finally, he was held after a week-long chase across the state.Last week, the police registered a case against a Bibeesh, the video editor at ‘Sadayam’ studio, Vadakara, for allegedly morphing photographs of women for pornographic purpose. After a preliminary probe, the studio owners were also booked in the case. It was suspected many photographs taken during various functions were misused by the culprits.The incident come to light when the relative of a woman noticed her morphed photograph on social media. On receiving the information, she lodged a complaint with the police.
