Kerala allocates Rs 18 crore to develop AYUSH institutions

According to health minister K K Shylaja, with the improvement of basic infrastructure facilities at these institutions, the public will get better health care at affordable costs.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a bid to make the institutions operating under the AYUSH Department as centres of excellence, the state government has sanctioned an amount of Rs 18 crore. The said amount is meant for institutions that come under Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, Yoga, Homeopathy, and Naturopathy medicinal streams.

According to health minister K K Shylaja, with the improvement of basic infrastructure facilities at these institutions, the public will get better health care at affordable costs. “An amount of Rs 40 lakh has been allocated for the implementation of Health Management Information System in hospitals and dispensaries that comes under AYUSH.

It will be used for software, computer, LAN and website development, digitalisation of recording room and others,” said Shylaja.
