Mubadala, DP World to send teams to Kerala soon: CM Pinarayi Vijayan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Mubadala Investment Company, UAE, and DP World will soon send high-level teams to the state to explore possible areas of collaboration, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Monday.

Pinarayi, during his recent UAE visit, had met top officials of the Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala, which is chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi.According to him, the company has evinced interest in investing in a petrochemical complex, defence park, life science park, food processing, civil aviation and agriculture.

Mubadala, which has investments in over 30 countries, has a clear idea about the investment-friendly stance adopted by the Kerala government, Vijayan said. The Chief Minister had also met top officials of global port operator DP World during his UAE trip. He said that the company will soon despatch a team to the state to follow up on the talks held in UAE.

DP World is willing to collaborate with the state government on a number of initiatives including a logistics park and an industrial park. ‘’They are also attracted by our inland waterways project. They have invested in many countries in similar projects and have developed ships that can navigate through shallow waters,’’ the Chief Minister said. The CM had also met Abdulla Al Habbai, chairman of Dubai Holding, which is implementing the Smart City project.
