KOTTAYAM: The ultimate objective of the state government and the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) in creating controversies over Sabarimala is to wrest control of Lord Ayyappa’s thiruvabharanam (holy ornaments), which are with the Pandalam royal family, alleged the Kshatriya Kshema Sabha state leadership.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s attempt to show that the Sabarimala temple is not connected with the Pandalam royal family is a pointer to this conspiracy, said Sabha members who gathered here for a meeting on Tuesday.

“The customs, rituals and practices in Sabarimala are accepted by the Travancore-Kochi Hindu Religious Organisations Act, 1950. While this being the truth, the LDF Government is trying to defame the royal family, which is extremely deplorable,” said the Sabha.

The Sabha demanded the government to implement reports on temples prepared by four commissions.
According to Sabha state president K N Surendranatha Varma and general secretary Athmajavarma Thampuran, a committee meeting will be held in Chalakudy on October 28 to decide the future course of action on Sabarimala.
