THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Backend works to upload new digital resurvey maps on the ‘Ente Bhoomi’ portal, the single window system for services related to the revenue, registration and survey departments, is progressing. The Revenue Department will issue an order allowing the upload after getting a clearance from the Registration Department.

Backend software development by National Informatics Centre is in the final stage, said a source in the Survey Department. A total of 13 villages in Kerala have already published the draft digital resurvey map and two more will do it in a few days. They are among the 200 villages included in the first phase of the programme.

The notification of the draft map, under Section 9(2) of the Kerala Survey and Boundaries Act, 1961, gives people one-month time to raise complaints. The Ujar-Ulwar village in Kasaragod was the first to publish the draft map. “After rectifying the errors, the map will be notified in the Gazette under Section 13 of the KSB Act. It will then become the official survey map of the village. People can pay the land tax through the portal once the map is uploaded there,” the source said.

The 200 villages included in the first phase have a total area of 3.62 lakh hectares. The survey was completed on 53,970 hectares till May 10. The programme engages 796 surveyors. Equipment includes 636 Real Time Kinematic (RTK) Rover and Robotic Total Station (RTS). The Survey Department has asked landowners to check the draft map during the notification period and report errors, if any. The draft map is available at the village camp office and the government’s ‘Ente Bhoomi’ portal.

Owners have to check their name, area and bend points of the land parcel and its category, like wetland or dry land. Complaints on the draft map should be raised with the village camp office or through the portal. Rectification will be cumbersome after the final map is published.

Thirteen villages that published the draft map are Veiloor, Ottoor (Thiruvananthapuram district), Mangad (Kollam), Omallur (Pathanamthitta), Kadakkarappally (Alappuzha), Udayanapuram (Kottayam), Kanayannur (Ernakulam), Alappad (Thrissur), Thirumittakode-I (Palakkad), Ponmundam (Malappuram), Thikkodi (Kozhikode), Azhikode South (Kannur) and Ujar-Ulwar (Kasaragod). Valad and Erattayar will publish the map shortly.
