NABARANGPUR: The fight in Nabarangpur Parliamentary constituency is set to be an interesting one with three Majhi’s of major political importance likely to give each other a tough fight.
While the Congress has fielded Pradeep Majhi, it is Parsuram Majhi from the BJP and Damburu Majhi from the BJD.
Pradeep contesting for the first time is the national general secretary of Congress while Parsuram is a sitting MP of BJP and BJD’s Damburu, who recently joined the party after resigning from the Congress, was a former minister.
Besides, Bahujan Samaj Party has fielded Chandra Dhwaja Majhi and Bhairam Halva will be contesting on a Samruddha Orissa ticket.
Chandra Dhwaja of BSP is not a new face as he had contested the last Lok Sabha election from the seat.
Samrudha Orissa which started its network a year ago has fielded a new face, Halva.
In the last Lok Sabha election the BJP retained the seat with 46.11 percent of vote share, Congress managed 42.92 percent and the BSP contesting for the first time garnered 10.97 percent votes which surprised many politicians.
