BHUBANESWAR: The turnout of voters in the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in the state is 66.3 percent in the first and second phase.

According to the office of the chief electoral officer (CEO), the second phase polls recorded polling of 66.77 percent while in the first phase polls the turnout was 65.9 percent. Balasore parliamentary constituency from which Kharavela Swain-BJP, Srikant Jena-Congress and Arun Dey-NCP are in the fray witnessed 71.24 percent polling. In the Keonjhar (ST), 70.53 percent polling was recorded.

The lowest polling of 55.02 percent was recorded from the Bhubaneswar parliamentary constituency. The three assembly constituencies- Bhubaneswar Central, Bhubaneswar North and Ekamra-Bhubaneswar recorded unusually low polling. While Bhubaneswar North recorded 35 percent of polling, in Ekamra-Bhubaneswar the voting percentage was 37.43 percent. Final tally of the Bhubaneswar central polling is not available. However, other Assembly constituencies under Bhubaneswar parliamentary constituency witnessed brisk polling.

In Jayadev (SC) constituency polling was 65.38 percent while in Jatani it was 68.86 percent. Begunia and Khurda also recorded polling of 62.12 and 61.31 percent respectively.

Puri parliamentary constituency recorded polling of 66.57 percent. In Bramhagiri Assembly constituency polling was 72 percent while in Pipili it was 71 percent. Polling in other Assembly segments: Puri-61, Satyabadi-61, Chilika-66, Ranpur-68 and Nayagarh-67.

Similarly, Kendrapara parliamentary constituency recorded 68.28 percent polling. Salipur Assembly constituency witnessed a high of 70.03 percent while in Patkura polling was 68.89 percent. Cuttack parliamentary constituency witnessed 62.67 percent polling. Polling in Assembly constituencies : Baramba-66, Athagarh-72, Banki-65, Barabati-Cuttack-49, Choudwar-Cuttack-53, Cuttack Sadar (SC)-61 and Khandapada-72.69 percent.

Bhadrak, Jajpur (SC) and Dhenkanal parliamentary constituencies witnessed polling of 67.21, 67.33 and 66.7 percent respectively.
