BHUBANESWAR: The BJP is facing the worst kind of a situation as MLAs having constituency problem are leaving the party one after another. Latest in the series is Baisinga MLA Pramila Giri.

After delimitation, Baisinga Assembly constituency has been abolished. Apprehending that she may not get renomination, Giri quit the party Sunday. She sent her resignation to party president Suresh Pujari late in the evening.

Pramila, a first timer, is among the five women legislators of the BJP. “I have not decided whether to join any other party as there is no scope to contest election after reorganisation of constituencies,” she told this paper.

Three Assembly seats of Mayurbhanj - Khunta, Baisinga and Kuliana - reserved for Scheduled Tribes have been abolished. The new constituencies that have been carved out are Badasahi (SC), Morada (General) and Saraskana (ST).

Pramila is the fourth sitting MLA of the BJP to resign after BJD severed ties with the saffron party.

Brundaban Majhi (Likera), Dhaneswar Majhi (Kesinga) and Maheswar Sahu (Talcher) had quit the party.
