BARGARH: Gopapur held the centrestage on day four of the 11-day Dhanu Yatra.
Visitors got a see the ‘Bal Leela’ of infant Lord Krishna as he was busy breaking pots, stealing butter and playing pranks with the inhabitants.
The day also saw demons like Putna, Sakata, Truna, Baka and Sandha being killed by the young Lord. The demon warriors had been sent by King Kansa. Deaths of the demon warriors saw celebration among the inhabitants of Gopapur.
While festivities marked Gopapur, it was a bad time for King Kansa at Mathura after he received the news of the death of his warriors. Angered with the child, he conspires with his ministers and tries to work out a new plan to eliminate the child. The worried King turns to God and performs ‘Rudrabhisekh’ of Lord Mukteswar. He also undertakes tour of his kingdom and punishes innocents in frustration.
