BHUBANESWAR: TARANG TELEVISION, the entertainment channel of Orissa Television Limited (OTV) -- has announced nominations for its second annual Tarang Cine Awards for Oriya cinema.
The nominations have been finalised by a jury comprising veteran film maker Sabyasachi Mohapatra, Amiya Pattnaik, cinematographer Dilip Roy, editor Deven Mishra, writer and editor Iti Samanta, singer Arjun Charan Samal, Geeta Pattnaik and cine critic Surya Deo.
Nominees for the best film are Alo Mora Kandhei, Don, Mu kana Ete Kharap, Sanju aau Sanjana, Swayamsidhha and Tu Tha Mu Jauchi Rushi. Anubhab has been nominated for best actor (male) for his performance in Deewana, Don and Mu Kana Ete Kharap. Two other nominations in the same category are Babushan for Sanju aau Sanjana and To Akhire Mu and veteran star Sidhant for Swayamsidhha.
This year, three new categories - best choreography, best child artist and best debutant actor - have been added to the existing 18 categories. The winners would be finalised through public voting. Apart from SMS, online voting and advertisements, mobile voting vans would be pressed into service across the State for the purpose.
The awards would be presented in a special ceremony at Bhubaneswar on February 26. The televised show of the event will be aired on March 5.
