BARGARH: STAGE is set for Phalgun Mela, also known as Nishyan Yatra, at
Shyam Bihari temple at Bhatli in the district. The temple is considered second to the temple dedicated to the Lord at Khatu in Rajasthan.
The two-day festival will see thousands of devotees from across Chhattishgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand throng the temple to participate in the festival.
The legend of Shyam Baba can be traced to the medieval
Mahabharat.
Informing that special security arrangements have been made to control and streamline traffic, temple trustee Govind Sharma today said more than 50,000 devotees will witness the festival. He said that devotees willing to stay during the occasion would be provided with free accommodation and ‘prasad’.
