PARADIP: Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals  Corporation Limited (DFPCL) has committed to adopt the project- affected Bagadia village. DFPCL is setting up a 300 MTPA ammonium nitrate manufacturing facility here.

The district administration and DFPCL authorities interacted with the villagers on Monday seeking the latter’s cooperation to expedite the construction work.

The project requires nearly 80 acres of land out of which 30 acres are in Bagadia and Chaudamath villages of Bagadia panchayat. Nearly 200 families of the villages will be affected by the project. The meeting at Bagadia village discussed various issues including the demands of the villagers. A community centre at a cost of ` 15 lakh is being planned at the village besides streetlights, drinking water and medical facilities.

DFPCL has also decided to open an ITI centre to impart training to youths for employment opportunities in the factory.
