Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev today said he had nothing to do with the division in the team Anna but hinted that he will play a bigger role before the next general elections to the Lok Sabha.
"You will see a political storm before the next parliamentary election. But I will not disclose my plan of action know," Ramdev told Editorial Director of the New Indian Express Prabhu Chawla in an interactive session after giving a talk on religious writings at the two-day literary festival here.
Refuting allegations that he backed by the RSS spoiled the Team Anna movement against corruption and was instrumental in creating a division between Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal, the Yoga Guru said he had no problem with the Gandhian leader.
"I don't have any problem with Annaji. I never misled him. But some people made him a joke," Ramdev said. Asked if he felt sidelined as Anna Hazare got all the limelight in the fight against corruption, Ramdev said he has no craze for publicity as the whole of the country knew him much before the Anna movement.
"Rather I gave him (Anna Hazare) a much bigger projection by organising rallies at Jantar mantar and Ramleela Maidan in New Delhi," he claimed. While parrying a question on the possibility of his coming to direct politics like Kejriwal, Ramdev said the country will be free from corruption if right kind of people are sent to the Assembly and the Parliament.
"I am Indian first then I am a sadhu. As an Indian I have the responsibility to clean the system which is now rotting. It is my Rastra Dharma to save the country and the movement against black money is a part of my duty," he remarked.
Ramdev said that the biggest threat facing the country is the danger from corrupt politicians and political mafias. These people are looting the country and stashing their black money abroad. He reiterated that his fight for bringing the black money to the country will continue as the people are with him.
In a fresh attack on the Congress, Ramdev said now illegal properties worth Rs 300 crore acquired by Robert Vadra and his mother has come to public notice. This is peanut compared to the huge wealth amassed by Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her families. All the investigating and anti-corruption agencies of the country are working overnight how to protect the Gandhi family, he said.
